Steven B. Heird, MD, FACS

Steven Heird, MD, FACS, is a vascular surgeon and aesthetics specialist at the York, Pennsylvania, office of Advanced Vein & Laser Center. He is one of the world’s leading practitioners in vascular surgery, using his considerable skills and over 28 years of experience to find effective, noninvasive treatments for his patients’ vein problems.

After studying at Washington and Lee University in Virginia and the University of Maryland School of Medicine, he began his career training as a general surgeon at York Hospital. Dr. Heird developed his expertise in vascular surgery while completing a fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and he continued to build on his knowledge with a series of specialist training courses in endovascular surgery, wound care and hyperbaric therapy, endovenous laser therapy vein procedure, and subfascial endoscopic perforator surgery.

Dr. Heird is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is held in high esteem by colleagues and patients alike. He has also published an autobiography, “To Hell and Back,” that gives an insight into his life that readers find both moving and enlightening. Dr. Heird carries out both vascular and aesthetics procedures, including body contouring, on-site in York, using the most up-to-date and effective treatment methods to ensure his patients receive optimum results.
