Patient comfort is one of the major benefits of sclerotherapy with Varithena. During the procedure, you may feel a couple of pinches from the injections. You can feel some mild heat while the foam works, but any discomfort is quite moderate and lasts only a few minutes. Many of our patients are surprised how easy and comfortable Varithena is!
The Symptoms are Real. So is the Relief.
You’ve spent enough time explaining what your legs feel like.
We’ve seen it before—maybe you’ve been told to wait it out, brush it off, or live with it. That deep ache. The swelling around your ankles. The tight, heavy feeling that creeps in as your day progresses. Maybe you’ve chalked it up to long days and getting older—but you shouldn’t have to settle for this version of “normal”.
And at AVLC, we take your pain seriously, and we use Varithena to treat the root cause.

Varithena in York

Initial Exam
Dr. Heird uses the initial exam to learn about you and map your unique vein patterns. He marks each vein’s location as you stand for your examination. Once complete, he creates a custom treatment plan.
Appointment
During your Varithena appointment, Dr. Heird uses Varithena to collapse the targeted veins. The entire treatment session can be between 40 and 60 minutes, but the procedure only takes 20 to 30 minutes.
Improved Veins
Your body will gradually reabsorb the collapsed vein over the next few weeks, improving its appearance and giving you relief from pain, itching, and swelling.
