Dr. Steven B. Heird

Dr. Heird, based in the AVLC York office, has been providing Central PA patients with outstanding vein diagnosis and treatment services for over 20 years. He utilizes the most modern modalities for minimally invasive solutions for the treatment of venous insufficiency and varicose veins.
Steven B. Heird, MD, FACS, received his undergraduate education at Washington and Lee University. He subsequently graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1984. After his general surgery training at York Hospital, he completed a vascular surgery fellowship at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Heird holds certifications in both general surgery and in the specialty of vascular surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has practiced vascular surgery for over 20 years with an emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of venous diseases, as well as chronic wound care. Since Dr. Heird opened the Advanced Vein and Laser Center, Inc., he has devoted his skills and expertise to the entire spectrum of venous diseases while utilizing the most modern modalities of therapy available.

David A. Winand, M.D. F.A.C.S., based in the AVLC Lancaster office, specializes in vascular and endovascular surgery and focuses his practice on treatment of varicose veins, venous disease and superficial venous insufficiency. He specializes in solutions that enable patients to avoid hospital stays and general anesthesia.
Dr. Winand is board certified in vascular and general surgery. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Mathematics and Physics with Honors from Juniata College. Dr. Winand completed his medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. At Temple, he was awarded the Dr. J Robert Troyer Award for Excellence in Anatomy and the Dr. Herman Brown Award for Excellence in the Study of the Art and Science of Surgery. Dr. Winand completed his Internship and Residency in General Surgery at Temple University Hospital where he received the H. Taylor Casswell Award as Outstanding Chief Resident in Surgery.
Dr. Winand completed advanced specialty training in Vascular Surgery at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. At Mayo, Dr. Winand earned the Fellows Teaching Award for teaching excellence amongst all specialties at Mayo. He has worked in the field of Vascular Surgery for over thirteen years. He has been a part of the Lancaster medical community as a member of the Lancaster Surgical Group/ Surgical Group of Lancaster General Health for more than 10 years. Dr. Winand most recently served as the Chief of the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Dr. Winand is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has memberships in Society of Vascular Surgeons, American Medical Association, and the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association.
